Rascibly for Gut Harmony is a 20-herb Chinese medicinal formula that specifically targets the underlying pathophysiology of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and related symptoms. Rascibly can also be useful for treating inflammatory bowel disease.  Studies have shown that Rascibly inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokines and macrophage marker nitric oxide synthase and decreases pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion from JAWS II dendritic cells. Rascibly also blocks the drop in trans-epithelial electric resistance and significantly inhibits the up-regulation of inflammatory cytokines within the mucosa.  Further effects were seen with increased expression of cell adhesion molecules and improved mucosal integrity and gut barrier.  Several of the herbs exhibit mild anti-spasmodic activity, helping with relief of initial symptoms early on in the treatment.
